Taylor Auto Group Opens Two Stores in One Month
On Friday August 3rd, 2012, Taylor Auto Group launched its new store, Taylor Kia of Lima, Ohio, and on September 4th Taylor is opening a new Hyundai dealership in Findlay, Ohio.
About a year and a half in the making, owner Steve Taylor said the decision to open the Lima Kia store made a lot of sense, “We opened the Findlay Kia store in 2010 and we noticed that we were selling quite a few Kias to people from the Lima area, about thirty cars a month they would drive up to Lima and that got us to thinking about having a more convenient place for them to get service, and also realized that since people were making a thirty mile drive, that there was good opportunity for growth.”
In addition to the expected media excitement associated with grand openings, each week Taylor awarded a pre-owned vehicle to a lucky on-line registrant throughout the month of August, for a total of four vehicles as part of the grand opening celebration.
Steven Lorenzo, partner at JKR commented, It’s enormously gratifying to see our long-term clients continue to grow. I like to think that when a client does well that it reflects upon us. I can tell you all day long that we’re a great agency, but when a client opens two stores in one month, I believe it says more than that.
Located directly across from the Lima Auto Mall, when asked if the new store was meeting expectations, Taylor responded with “Even better than expected. We’ve delivered a hundred cars in the first three weeks and were tracking to deliver between 110 and 120 before the end of the month.”
On September 4, 2012, Taylor Hyundai of Findlay opened its doors to a month long celebration filled with grand opening specials, scratch-off contests.
Taylor’s is hosting Kia Fest on Saturday, September 15 at Taylor Kia of Lima from 2:00 pm till 10:00 pm.
Headlining the show will be country music star and champion of the workin’ mans music sound, Grammy award winner Travis Tritt. When asked how Kia Fest came about, Steve Taylor spoke of the positive experience he had when the Kia Findlay store opened and this time he wanted to go one better, When we opened the Kia Findlay store, we decided to put on a little entertainment and hired country music star Joe Diffie, we had around a thousand people attend and it was a great time for all. People were still talking about it a year later, we had a meet & greet, people were able have their pictures taken with him and we raffled off an autographed guitar. It was a fun event.
This time we’re also hiring several local bands to open the show and play throughout the day, there will be food vendors, a Bounce House, and face painting for the kids.
Steve indicated they were working closely with the local Chamber of Commerce and a few of the radio stations in helping to square away the logistics and details for this kind of event. He also indicated that they are expecting a much larger audience for this time.
Closing out the month-long celebration will be a ceremonial Grand Opening on October 6th with customer appreciation premiums and giveaways, of which the details are still in the works.
Steve Taylor is entirely optimistic for the future of this enterprise, Our track record in this market is remarkable and as long as we keep paying attention to what people want and expect, I see no reason for the trend to change.
