Internet Marketing Director - Branden Stanley

JKR Advertising & Marketing welcomes Branden Stanley as our new Internet Marketing Director. Branden is a relative newcomer to Orlando, arriving here last October from Santa Barbara, California after taking a position with the Asbestos Mesothelioma Awareness Group, a lead generation firm for the legal profession.

A graduate of the University of California, Santa Barbara, class of 97, Branden earned his degree in Business Economics. Immediately after earning his degree, he embarked on a career in Internet marketing, and taking a position with Vertrue, located in Santa Barbara, California in sales, and then taking on greater and greater responsibilities being promoted to Internet Marketing Manager, and then to General Marketing Manager.

Foresight Research released the first results from its 2012 Automotive Marketing Communications Study. Automotive research specialists, Foresight interviewed 7,851 new vehicle buyers in the US, finding:

  • Buyers in 2011 looked for and listened to fewer marketing communications, as a different mix of customers and needs met budget-restrained marketers.

Will Increased Car Sales Increase Radio Advertising?

In what could be good news for radio if auto sales translate into auto advertising, Toyota experienced its first monthly sales increase since April, and joined Chrysler and Nissan in exceeding analysts’ estimates.

Toyota car sales increased in November by 6.7% to 138,000, while Chrysler sales skyrocketed by 45% to 107,000 and Nissan increased 19% to 85,000. Truck sales also showed strength, boosted by demand for Ford F-Series Trucks and GM Silverado pickups.

Automotive Advertising has traditionally provided radio with major advertising dollars, but in the most recent Media Monitors survey, Chrysler Jeep Dodge was the only Automotive Top-10 advertiser, coming in at #9. (NET NEWS 11/28). No other car manufacturer was in the Top-10 for the previous week as well.

Several weeks ago in Ad Age Daily an article discussing “how we grow our advertising agency” caught my eye. The article discussed was how ad agencies were so inept at selling their own services. The attendant blog generated much breast-beating, mea-culpas, parsing and parting: What is selling? The different kinds of selling consultative, relationship/partnering, hard sell and persuasive. Who should do it, partners and principals, new business development specialists? Yadda yadda, etc. etc. Book lists were suggested, the dearth of training was bemoaned, but all in all, none were able to identify the best way to sell advertising services, and I could no longer remain a silent observer and posted the following:
